Parks

Erskine Park:  Full range of activities available including playground, volleyball, tennis, horseshoes, swimming, softball diamonds, basketball courts. 

Win-E-Mac School Playground:  Modern plastic play structure that is well maintained.  Slides and climbing equipment geared towards small children.  Located behind (east) of the School on Hwy 59.

Rydell National Wildlife Refuge:  2,120-acre refuge established in 1992 with 7 miles of trails.  Includes a visitor center with bookstore, wildlife observation and photography, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, fishing, hunting and environmental education.  2.5 Miles W. of Erskine on Highway #2, and 2.5 miles S. on Highway #210  (Scroll down to see listing below for contact info.)

Campgrounds

There are several campgrounds in Erskine and the surrounding area.  They include 2Annes Lakeside RV Park and Campground, Farmer's Union Campground, Union Lake Sarah Campground.  More on these listings in the Campground/Motel page. 

Golf

Oak Lake Golf Course:  A beautiful 9-hole grass green public golf course.  Very reasonable rates to play, rent clubs, rent carts, and access the club house and pro shop.  League nights are Wed. women and Thurs. men.

Winter Recreation

A highlight of winter recreation in Erskine is ice car racing.  For more information on this fun activity both to participate in as well as view go to our calendar of events pages.  Groomed snowmobile trails are well maintained please adhere to new Minnesota regulations and drive safely.

Fertile Sand Hills Recreation Area:  Located one mile east of Fertile.  Ten miles of hiking and cross country ski trails along the Sand Hill River and through the Fertile Sand Hills.  Trail maps available at the Fertile Community Center and on-site.  


Chicog Wildlife Management Area:  www.dnr.state.mn.us/wmas/index.html  1,624 acre example of some of Minnesota's remaining mesic prairie.  Winter opportunities include exploration by snowshoe and cross country skiing.  Spring and fall brings migrating cranes.  Location is 11 miles SE of Crookston on MN Hwy 102 to Melvin then 1 mile S on township road.
